Nick Cannon to Guest Host Wendy Williams' Talk Show After She Suffers Graves' Disease Complications

As Wendy Williams continues to focus on her well-being, Nick Cannon will be temporarily filling in for the host on her daytime talk show.

The Wendy Williams Show announced Tuesday that Cannon, 38, will be guest-hosting the program early next month, from Feb. 4-Feb. 6.

The upcoming hour-long episodes, hosted by Cannon — who is host of MTV’s Wild n’ Out and Fox’s The Masked Singer — will include Williams’ Hot Topics segment, “Ask Wendy,” and celebrity interviews.

Her temporary replacement comes nearly three weeks after the show announced that Williams, 54, was taking another hiatus.

Almost a year after she took three weeks off following her announcement that she had been diagnosed with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid, in addition to thyroid issues of which she was previously aware, the show announced Jan. 18 that Williams “is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being.”

“As Wendy Williams Hunter previously shared, she fractured her shoulder and has been on the mend,” reads the statement posted on the show’s official Instagram page. “Over the past few days, Wendy has experienced complications regarding her Graves’ Disease that will require treatment.”

“Wendy will be under the strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital,” continues the statement. “Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being. Wendy thanks everyone in advance for their well-wishes and for respecting her and The Hunter Family’s privacy during this time.”
